Winter Solstice Gong Evening

from HK$0.00

Saturday December 21

1700-1830

Stop, reflect and connect with the energies of the longest dark night of the year and welcome the return of the sun with gongs.

The winter solstice is sometimes called ‘midwinter’ or ‘shortest day’. As from this day forth the days become longer, and nights shorter. It occurs when one of the earth’s poles has reached its maximum tilt away from the sun and it happens twice yearly, winter and Summer. For many cultures it represents the rebirth of the sun. Join us in our own celebration with sacred sound instruments tuned to the sun and earth

We begin with a short meditation for courage followed by a 45  minute deep relaxation to the sound of the gongs.  Signature home made yogi tea and brownies finish the event. Wear clothes you can sit and then lie down in. Blankets, mats and lavender eye bags are provided.

Price: Adult drop in at HK$350 Over 65 and full time students half price

Entering the Studio - Feel free to enter 15 minutes before class.
Please leave shoes, coats, phones and personal belongings in the cubbies by the door.
To facilitate a meditative environment, it is mandatory that your phone is on silent, (not vibrate).
If the studio door is closed, please do not disturb by entering. A closed door means that a practice is in session.

Latecomers - Class will begin on time.

End of Class - Please help us maintain the studio by returning all props to their original locations.  Blankets are folded neatly as per the photo and stacked ready for re-use.  Mats are stacked neatly on the trolley.  Take responsibility for washing your own cups etc.  We appreciate you feeling as though the studio is your own home and your help in keeping it tidy, clean and welcoming.
